Österreichische Zwangsarbeitslager für ungarische Juden.
According to Yad Vashem.
Deportations of Hungarian Jews to Austria began immediately after Hungary was occupied by the Wehrmacht in March 1944. Between May 14 and July 9, 1944, more than 430,000 Hungarian Jews were deported to Auschwitz. Some 75 percent of those who were deported to Auschwitz were sent to the gas chambers either immediately or soon after their arrival. Of those selected for labor, 8,000 were deported to the Mauthausen concentration camp and its satellites between May 28 and June 19, 1944, followed by several thousand more after the final evacuation of Auschwitz in January 1945. The subsequent fate of these two groups of deportees to concentration camps will not be discussed in this article.
Yad Vashem is claiming that 322 500 Hungarian Jews were gassed at Auschwitz in 56 days, which amounts to about 5800 murdered per day. Franciszek Piper (Mattogno-Auschwitz Sonderkommando) said "They had to cremate 24,000 Hungarian Jews every day."; this would put the number of Hungarian deaths at 1.3 million. This is more than the Jewish Population of a "Szent Korona Országai" (Hungarian Territories) which in 1941 had a Jewish Population of 445,000, though other sources quote 846,000 due to various annexations.
An unnamed Hungarian witness states his experiences after the Germans arrived in Hungary, 1944 link
In April, the conscription for forced labour commenced again, this time in a far greater and more expansive measure than in the previous years. Virtually all male Jews were conscripted. Out of the entire community-3 –only the women, the children and the elderly people remained at home.
This forced labourer worked mainly in Hungary, arriving at Mauthausen just before the Russians arrived.
The US Helsinki Commission speaks of the mass deportation of Hungary’s Jews and the Romani revolt at Birkenau. link
There were 6 thousand Romani at Birkenau. Chairman Cardin said: “Plans to empty the Romani camp at Auschwitz were, in fact, intended to make room for Jews arriving from Hungary.”
The JTA in its archives has an interesting article. link Sept 9 1940
From 135,000 to 150,000 Jews have been mobilized in the last six weeks by Hungarian authorities for services in special labor camps, it was revealed today by a reliable source close to the Government.
In 1944
In the early summer and autumn, at least 55,000 Hungarian Jews were deported to eastern Austria to do forced labour. link
I have provided a pdf list of the 230 Austrian labour camps for Hungarian Jews. List. This list was compiled by deutschland-ein-denkmal.de
It is known that two of the Lantos transports went west, only one headed towards Poland. Even then there is no certainty that the Polish transports ended up at Birkenau. While not from Hungary Jetje and Sientje Veterman were supposed to go to Auschwitz but ended up in Sobibor.
In March 1943 Jetje and her sister were also taken away to go to Auschwitz. But when they arrived at the camp the train kept going. She never even caught a glimpse of this camp. ‘We just heard screaming and that was all.’ The train went on to Sobibor
They ended up at the Lublin-Flugplatz labour camp from Sobibor.
One of the transports half way through the Hungarian deportations, arrived at Bergen Belsen and then Switzerland with 1 670 surviving passengers; this is known as the Kastner train.
