This was posted on Nessie board re transports, a reply to his mention of mortality revisions. I will repost it here as it in the correct topic slot. Early estimates were over estimates and have been revised down. That has happened with the AR camps and A-B. Like all deaths in that conflict there are huge variations, some such as Soviet deaths and atrocities in the magnitude of 300%; everything is an estimation, the reality being a guesstimate. No one is trying to say that people did not suffer horribly; many if not most of the deaths were in the hiatus immediately post war. Millions of Russians and Germans, Hungarians, people all over Europe were displaced, no food, no warmth. It is those people that deserve compassion as much as a single class of people who have claimed attention. The reality the Jews claim is insignificant in the light of this information.  |

Interesting to see to what extent the Nazis targetted civilians, compared to the Allies, with 58% of Allied casualties civilian compared to 4% Axis casualties civilians.
All the Jewish, Roma gypsies, Jehovah's witnesses, homosexuals and the disabled murdered by the Nazis, just for not fitting into their Aryan scheme.

Interesting to see to what extent the Nazis targetted civilians, compared to the Allies, with 58% of Allied casualties civilian compared to 4% Axis casualties civilians. All the Jewish, Roma gypsies, Jehovah's witnesses, homosexuals and the disabled murdered by the Nazis, just for not fitting into their Aryan scheme. There is no evidence that the deaths in those figures were caused by Nazis; in fact the German population suffered greatly. The deaths were caused by a number of factors, not bullets but the collateral damage all conflicts bring. There is no evidence of substance to suggest those groups you mention above were murdered; perhaps quarantined. Aryan is a concept to unite a collective still held strongly today, mainly by those not of colour. It is still a huge political force to be reckoned with. |

The contrast was that although illegal, there were numerous gay clubs, the law ignored by the police. There is insufficient evidence to make a blanket statement they were murdered. It is clear that they were regarded as undesirables, as they were in most cultures and to be incarcerated. Pontificating misperceptions without evidence is not appreciated. Like others they were put to work but were separated from the population. Of course like everyone else Aktion 14f13 did occur where the invalids crossed over the rainbow bridge.
