The BBC has reported that Israel is upset after Russia's foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov claimed that Nazi leader Adolf Hitler "had Jewish blood".
Sergei Lavrov made the comment after being asked "how Russia could claim it was fighting to "de-Nazify" Ukraine"; Mr Lavrov made the remarks in an interview on Italian TV programme Zona Bianca on Sunday, days after Israel marked Holocaust Remembrance Day.
When asked how Russia can claim that it is fighting to "de-Nazify" Ukraine (‘How can Nazification exist if we’re Jewish?’) when President Volodymyr Zelensky is himself Jewish, Mr Lavrov said: "I could be wrong, but Hitler also had Jewish blood. [That Zelensky is Jewish] means absolutely nothing. Wise Jewish people say that the most ardent anti-Semites are usually Jews."
The article goes on to say:
World War II, in which the Soviet Union lost an estimated 27 million people and helped defeat Nazi Germany, is a linchpin of Russia’s national identity.
Israel gained independence in the wake of the Holocaust and has served as a refuge for the world's Jews. Over 70 years later, the Holocaust remains central to Israel's national ethos, and it has positioned itself at the centre of global efforts to remember the Holocaust and combat anti-semitism.

Even if the holocaust claims are true, it seems the jews care little about the Russian losses; 27 million v 6 million, only themselves.
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said: "No war today is the Holocaust or is like the Holocaust."
Voltaire made this famous statement:
"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him."
The same can be said of the holocaust or Shoah:
If the Holocaust did not exist it would be necessary to invent it.
