How would you teach the Holocaust?

They are under pressure, the internal documents have no such complications. The question of honour and virtue can only be tested where there exists no pressure logically.

For the sake of their lives and the lives of their families they certainly would, after all, for the most part it is they and they alone who's heads are on the block. Therefore their honour is intact.

There was considerable risk to them in Germany, lying to protect yourself and your family is reasonable in the circumstances, does not dishonour them and doesnt turn them into murderers.

They are all obviously men who operate to the highest standards, given their backgrounds.

Nope, honourable men of the highest standard forced into a tricky legal trap doing the best for themselves and  their families in the post war environment. I have not called them dirty little liars nor did I say they lacked backbone - that was you, here is the quote as above;

" Dirty little liars, who lacked the backbone and honesty to tell the truth."

Against a court of law that asserts this crime took place it certainly is. I find these men honourable, not every action that they may have taken in their lives. As for judgements on backbone, if you have faced what they have faced you could credibly make such an assessment. Otherwise no.

In fact it is honourable given the monstrous feature of the court. Giving an intentionally false statement is not dishonorable in this circumstance.
