"It is a moral outrage that in the wake of the extensive denunciation of Stalin's crimes throughout what was once called the Soviet bloc, not a single Stalinist secret police functionary, concentration camp commander, torturer, or executioner has been placed on trial for Stalinist crimes."

"The opening of the secret Soviet archives - and also of the archives of the formerly Communist East European states - as well as open access to hitherto witheld socioeconomic statistics reveal in fact that communist totalitarianism was more criminal, more brutal, and socially more destructive than alleged by even its most severe critics. It was a system not only of mass murder - on a scale without precedent in human history - but of the deliberate demoralization of society and of the reckless devastation of the physical environment. In brief, both the soul and the body of society were its victims."

Re: Letter to USHMM on the 75th anniversary of the arrival of Stalin’s troops
I will leave you with the thoughts of Alexander Solzhenitsyn which I posted on another thread a short while ago. The Soviet Union was indeed the most brutal society, the excesses far worse in orders of magnitude than what was placed on the shoulders of Nationalsozialist Deutschland. One must also keep in mind the 45 million murdered in Communist China; this brings the number of murdered by Communist Socialist regimes ☭ to 111 million. In this context the plight of der Juden seems somewhat minuscule.torus9 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 11:14 am"It is a moral outrage that in the wake of the extensive denunciation of Stalin's crimes throughout what was once called the Soviet bloc, not a single Stalinist secret police functionary, concentration camp commander, torturer, or executioner has been placed on trial for Stalinist crimes."
